Floor Core Hybrid flooring & Maintenance Guide

The performance of your hybrid flooring can be maintained if properly cared for.

Below are some helpful tips and hints to help care for your floor depending on your situation:

Dry mop floor using a microfiber mop pad or suitable floor vacuum to remove dust particles from the floor.

Use sprayable PH neutral floor cleaners to avoid damaging the products wear layer.

When wet mopping, use a microfibre wet mop pad to mop the floor with the PH neutral cleaner. Make sure to take care with the pad, if it becomes dirty then replace it.

Mopping is best to take place in sections so it is more easily manageable. Spray cleaners tend to dry quickly so cleaning in small areas in stages is more effective.

It is recommended to rinse your floor after using a floor cleaning product. This will assist to remove any residues from the floor.

New construction or renovations:
General maintenance:

It is important to remove dirt and dust from your floor daily. This can be done via sweeping, vacuuming and dust mopping. This helps to prevent scratching and marking of the floorboards.

Do not use vacuum cleaners with rotating beater bars on hard surfaces as this can damage the boards.

You need to recurringly wet clean your hybrid floor to maintain its look. However, we recommend immediately prior to any wet cleaning that dust mop or vacuum first.

Do not use cleaning agents or products that are abrasive.

PH neutral floor cleaners are recommended.

Do not use any products that contain bleach as this will damage your floor.

Steam mopping is not recommended.

Precautionary recommendations:
  • Take care to protect your floor when moving heavy objects. Dragging heavy items can cause scratching or denting.
  • Wide floor protectors are recommended under tables, chairs and other such items.
  • Adhering tape should be taped to the item and not to the floorboards.
  • Mats at entrances should be used to avoid excess soil and moisture being brought inside. These mats should not have latex or rubber backings as this can cause discolouration.
  • We highly recommend using appropriate window coverings to minimise direct sunlight potentially causing fading and discolouration.
Dealing with a spill:
  • Absorb any moisture as quickly as possible with cloth towel. Rinse the cloth towel and blot the area until dry.
  • Any dry spills requiring spot cleaning should be gentle rinsed with water and gently removed.
  • Avoid using detergents or abrasive cleaners. PH neutral floor cleaners can also be used in spot cleaning.
  • Stubborn stains can possibly be removed by cautiously using isopropyl alcohol with a clean cloth.
